What is Pilates?
The now very famous Joseph Pilates developed his unique system of exercise way back in the 20th century. Joseph firmly believed that the health of the mind and the body were firmly connected and so his system (which he called Contrology) was designed to strengthen both. Today, Pilates is practised all over the world and is used not only for general fitness but to compliment the training of professional athletes, help people recover from injuries and for rehabilitation following surgery.
